Innerline ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Innerline mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Journal entries, mood data, and goals — This data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not have access to your journal content on our servers.

AI reflection requests — When you request an AI reflection, the text of your current entry and recent context (mood ratings, entry snippets, goal titles, and summary data) is sent to our server, which forwards it to OpenAI's API to generate a response. This data is transmitted over HTTPS and is not stored on our server after the response is returned.

Subscription information — Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information.

Device language — We send your device's language setting to our server so AI reflections can be generated in your language.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To generate personalised AI reflections and summaries based on your journal entries
• To provide the core journaling, mood tracking, and goal tracking features of the app
• To deliver notifications you have opted into (daily journaling reminders)

3. Data Storage & Security

Your journal entries, mood data, goals, and summaries are stored exclusively on your device. They are not uploaded to or backed up on our servers.

When generating AI reflections, entry content is transmitted to our server over encrypted HTTPS connections and forwarded to OpenAI. We do not log or persist the content of your entries on our server.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• OpenAI API — To generate AI reflections and summaries. OpenAI's data usage policies apply to data processed through their API. As of our implementation, API data is not used to train OpenAI models. See OpenAI's API data usage policy.
• Apple StoreKit — To manage subscriptions. Apple's privacy policy applies.

5. Data Retention

Since your data is stored locally on your device, it persists until you delete the app or manually remove entries. We do not retain any journal data on our servers.

6. Children's Privacy

Innerline is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

7. Your Rights

Because your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can delete individual entries, goals, or the entire app to remove all data. No account creation is required to use Innerline.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
